List of Social Security Disability Compassionate Allowances Is Expanded
January 21st, 2014
|Hundreds of thousands of United States citizens are awaiting decisions on their Social Security Disability (SSD) claims. Many of these individuals have been waiting months, or even years, for decisions to be reached. The Birmingham Social Security Disability Lawyers with Norris Injury Lawyers explain there may be an option for some individuals to have their claims decisions expedited.
Compassionate Allowances are a list of conditions that qualify SSD claims to be streamlined, meaning claimants suffering from these conditions can have decisions on their cases in a matter of weeks. Officials say the process allows those most in need of assistance to receive benefits in a timely manner. This is vital, considering many of the patients suffering from many of the conditions on the compassionate allowance list do not expect to live longer than one year.
In an effort to ensure the program is available for all of those who are in dire need of assistance, the Social Security Administration recently expanded the list of qualifying conditions to include 25 new diseases and ailments.
Norris Injury Lawyers and their team of Birmingham Personal Injury Lawyers applaud the actions being taken to help the most seriously disabled and are hopeful the efforts are a success!
