Hoover Man Charged in Connection with Fatal Birmingham Car Accident

A 27-year-old man from Hoover, Alabama, is facing charges in connection with a car accident this past May that left a woman dead and her sister seriously injured. A story from Al.com says the crash occurred on May 27 at around 5 a.m. along Jefferson Avenue SW in Birmingham, Alabama.
Reports indicate the man was driving a black Chevrolet Impala at a high rate of speed when he suddenly lost control of the vehicle He veered off the road and crashed into the side of a nearby residence. The impact of the Birmingham Car Accident sent the vehicle through an exterior wall and into the living room of the home, where a chimney then collapsed on the roof of the car.
A 27-year-old woman from Birmingham, who was in the vehicle at the time of the wreck, was pronounced dead at the scene. The driver and the deceased victim’s sister, who was in the backseat of the car, were rushed to a local trauma center for treatment to serious injuries.
An investigation into the accident later determined the driver was under the influence of alcohol at the time of the crash, and he was placed under arrest on charges of murder and assault on Wednesday.
