New Campaign Aims to Reduce Alabama Car Accident Totals
August 25th, 2015|
There are many factors that can cause a car accident to occur, and many are preventable—such as driving under the influence and being distracted while behind the wheel.
The Alabama car accident attorneys at Norris Injury Lawyers explain these driving behaviors can become more prevalent around certain holidays, including Labor Day weekend. That’s why law enforcement will be ramping up their efforts to promote safety across the state.
According to WHNT 19 News, the “Hands Across The Border” campaign will partner Tennessee and Alabama law enforcement agencies in high visibility patrols. Troopers and officers will be watching for drivers who are speeding, not using their seat belts, and who are operating under the influence of alcohol or drugs. The campaign launched on Aug. 21 and will continue through Labor Day weekend, which ends on Sept. 7.
Officials say it’s important that law enforcement continue to work to improve highway safety, and there have been an additional 1,500 crashes reported compared to last year.
At Norris Injury Lawyers, we’ve seen the devastating results unsafe driving can have on numerous lives. That’s why our Birmingham personal injury attorneys are hopeful the new campaign helps remind drivers to stay safe behind the wheel.
