Lawsuit Filed in Connection With Alabama Fireworks Plant Explosion
December 15th, 2015|
When someone faces the loss of a loved one due to someone else’s negligence, he or she often has the right to seek reimbursement for damages by filing an Alabama wrongful death lawsuit.
Such legal action was taken in response to the deaths of two workers killed earlier this year in an explosion at a Madison County fireworks manufacturing plant located in Owens Cross Roads. The families of the victims allege the company that owns and operates the facility was negligent when they failed to provide employees with a reasonably safe work environment.
According to WHNT 19 News, several safety violations were noted during the investigation that followed the explosion. The Alabama Fire Marshal’s office issued a cease and desist order to the facility shortly after the incident.
In addition to the fireworks facility, several others have been named as defendants in the lawsuits as well. The plaintiffs are seeking an undisclosed amount in damages.
